Animals in the wild: p:ear rec and art programs combine
The 3-D masks that accompanied last weeks hiking trip to Silver Star mountain were provide in-part by a donation from Wintercroft Masks in England. The art program built the masks during a three day process.
After the masks were complete, the p:ear rec program brought the masks along on the hiking trip to Silver Star Mountain. The hike began with a calf burning mile and a half up the southwest flank of the mountain and culminated in anther half mile at the top with phenomenal views of all the Cascade Range with Mount St. Helens, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood, and Mt. Adams in all their majesty. In addition to the spectacular views, youth donned animal masks in a wilderness setting creating for some interesting photo opportunities
