| Building p:ear |
p:ear is embarking on a bold campaign to purchase a permanent home. p:ear believes that each kid has a future and it is our responsibility as a community to help them find it.
Our current spot at the corner of Park and Alder is pending redevelopment, and although we thought it would be impossible to find the ideal space, p:ear is a place where, through hope, luck, perseverance and community support, difficulties are overcome.
We have found a perfect location – an historic 5,000 sq ft building on the corner of NW 6th and Flanders – and we plan to make this versatile and beautiful space p:ear's new home!
The youth who come to p:ear need more than a home and a job. p:ear's new building will be a place where homeless and transitional youth can discover their potential through the arts, education and recreation opportunities.
p:ear inspires curiosity, makes it safe to have dreams and gives kids the confidence to believe that they have something meaningful to say.
Our new building will be a place where we can expand our resources for
youth who deserve the chance to grow and change. p:ear's new home will include:
- kitchen facility
- music room / recording studio
- art gallery and performing
arts space
- dedicated GED / study space
|
- photography darkroom
- computer lab
- increased administrative and programmatic space
|
Together, we are off to an incredible start toward our $1.6 million goal of purchasing a permanent home. Join us in fulfilling our promise to youth and helping p:ear build a healthier community - for everyone.
