Jumping For Joy: William Park and p:ear youth
p:ear is thrilled to bring the visionary and joyous work of local artist, William Park, into p:ear gallery to show alongside new works by p:ear youth artists.
William Park loves to paint. p:ear youth love to paint. A show is born is of this desire to express oneself in the mediums we have available, from canvas to wood to paper, using paintbrush, pen, pencil. These are thrilling images, expressing unbridled release and the exquisite unselfconsciousness of joy. Nothing less than that will do when the love and the passion for connection takes over, regardless of life’s circumstances.
This is Park’s second show with p:ear, and is thrilled to share gallery space with the current artistic efforts of the youth, bringing his vision, skill and style. Park has been a part of the local arts scene for 20 years, exhibiting with Art Quake (remember that?) in 1993, working with other non-profit and city initiatives for public artworks, showing with Augen Gallery and then Mark Woolley Gallery in annual solo shows for nearly a decade, and more recently with Sitka Arts Center, Froelick Gallery and at his private studio/gallery on N.E. MLK Jr Blvd.
