Pear - Creatively Mentoring Homeless Youth

The art program at p:ear is hosting an innovative workshop lead by Kelly Williams!  It’s called Crossroads and is a 10-week intensive encaustic art workshop for p:ear youth culminating in a First Thursday p:ear gallery show in April. Student will be creating both a large painting with multiple youth working simultaneously, starting a new layer each day of the project and individual youth will be creating small, personal encaustic works with a private narrative element embedded in the art.  The smell of bees wax is wafting through our space and layers of paint are building toward an impressive show.

Kelly’s previous show at p:ear in 2010 was Recovery Pains.  Stay tuned for the opening of Crossroads at the p:ear gallery in April!
