New therapy program at p:ear

Pear - Creatively Mentoring Homeless Youth
“This is something I’ve been needing for quite some time. The horses are so peaceful. I don’t know what I’d do without the opportunities provided by p:ear.” – youth C.
p:ear has partnered with The Center at Heron Hill, a nature-based therapy and education program utilizing the principles of ecopsychology and equine-assisted growth and learning. Heron Hill has graciously offered their services gratis, twice a month for 6 youth to partake in programming over the next 6 months and beyond.
These exciting modalities are proven to be a great addition to more classic treatment practices in that they enhance and augment a client’s innate need for connection and relationships with the outside world, especially with nature. p:ear sees this a potentially vital piece to the healing and development of every youth. We look forward to a long standing relationship with Heron Hill for when youth are ready to take this next step in transition.
